Join the Rutgers Online Community Google Map: Step 1: Once you reach the Google Maps page (http://tinyurl.com/rutgersonlinemap), you will need to login with your Google/Gmail user information. If you don't already have a Google or Gmail account, you can sign up for free. If you don't want to sign up or add yourself to the map, don't worry, you can still post to the discussion thread on Facebook (facebook.com/RutgersPDS). Step 2: Once logged in, click the "Edit" button on the left side of the page. Step 3: Zoom in and find the location where you are putting information to work (your classroom - wherever that is for you as an online student or instructor, your place of employment, your recent volunteer activities, etc.) Step 4: Click on the blue "Add Placemark" pin at the top of the map. Click to place the pin. Step 5: Make the pin icon a Rutgers R by clicking on the blue image at the right of the bubble. Then select "Add an icon." When prompted for a URL, copy and past this address exactly as it is: http://mypds.rutgers.edu/rutgersonlinemap.png Step 6: Edit the place information by adding a title and a description. Use Rich Text and HTML modes to add links, photos and even YouTube videos that show how you are putting information to work. Step 7: Save your changes. You can click on any of the R's to learn about members of the Rutgers Online Community and how they are putting information to work.
